2006 marks the 30th year since we grabbed our diplomas, heard the commencement speeches, went to the Prom (and if we didn't go, we're are certainly much more together and better-looking now!) and to Grad Night.

And what did we do after getting those diplomas? How many of us drove from the school straight to Torrance Beach, secure in the knowledge that we had accomplished something, though at the time, who could've guessed what? How many of us felt, in those days in the summer in 1976, that we knew it all, that we had great plans and dreams, that the world was ours?

Have those dreams come true? Have we contributed to society? For so many in our class, the answer is yes. We have an exceptional number of classmates who have achieved things of national notice.

And what of us who have lived more typical lives? How are the other ways we've contributed? How many of us became parents, and found ourselves as Little League managers and soccer coaches, PTA officers, and volunteers for a thousand other things that make our world go around?
